Leadership Team

Meet Our CEO and Board of Directors — Leading the Vision and Shaping the Future of Afghan Hope Community Development.

Jafar Wahidi- Founder & CEO

Jafar Wahid founded Afghan Hope Community Development (AHCDS) in 2021 to provide dignity-centered, practical support for Afghan refugees and immigrant families rebuilding their lives in the United States. Under his leadership, Afghan Hope Community Development runs regular food distributions, clothing drives, emergency assistance, case management, benefits navigation, and culturally informed programs that help families find stable housing, employment, and access to healthcare and education.

Before founding Afghan Hope Community Development (AHCDS), Jafar served nine years as an interpreter on United States military bases in Afghanistan, working closely with international partners and U.S. service members on sensitive, mission-critical operations. That experience strengthened his cultural fluency, crisis-response skills, and commitment to protecting and uplifting vulnerable people.

After relocating to the U.S., Jafar spent three years working with other nonprofits as a case worker and direct service provider. In that role he not only provided case management and resettlement assistance but also organized and led food and clothing distributions, helping families meet urgent needs while connecting them to long-term services. This hands-on combination of case work and direct aid informs the programs he builds: services that move people from crisis to stability with compassion and practical support.

Driven by a vision of belonging and opportunity, Jafar leads Afghan Hope Community Development with a focus on community partnerships, volunteer mobilization, and measurable impact. He remains committed to expanding services that restore dignity and create pathways to success for displaced families across the U.S.
