Jafar Wahidi- Founder & CEO

Jafar Wahidi founded Afghan Hope Community Development (AHCDS) in 2021 to provide practical, dignity-centered support for Afghan refugees and immigrant families in the U.S. Under his leadership, AHCDS offers food and clothing distributions, emergency assistance, case management, and programs that help families secure housing, employment, healthcare, and education.

Previously, Jafar served nine years as a U.S. military interpreter in Afghanistan and three years as a case worker with nonprofit organizations, gaining deep experience in crisis response, cultural fluency, and community support. His work combines hands-on aid with long-term services that move families from crisis to stability. Jafar leads AHCDS with a focus on partnerships, volunteer engagement, and measurable impact, committed to creating pathways to opportunity and dignity for displaced families.

Burhan Nabizada Co-Founder & CFO

Burhan Nabizada co-founded Afghan Hope Community Development Inc. in 2024 and is dedicated to supporting refugees and immigrant families as they transition from stability to sustainability.With over 13 years of experience in the justice system and deep multicultural knowledge, Burhan brings a unique perspective to his leadership.

He holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice Leadership from San Diego, California. His extensive legal and leadership experience, including serving as a legal advisor for Bakhtar Bank and Arian Bank, two of Afghanistan’s largest financial institutions, drives the organization’s commitment to empowering communities with dignity and practical support.

Ajmal Safi Co-Founder & Board Member

Ajmal Safi is an experienced IT professional with a background in workforce development, public service, and community empowerment. He earned his IT Diploma from MTI College and served as Assistant Site Supervisor at the America’s Job Center of California (AJCC), where he supported over 100 young men and women in achieving their employment goals. Ajmal also worked as a private contractor on behalf of the U.S. government, providing language and cultural support. He is the co-founder and Board Director of Afghan Hope Community Development (AHCD), a nonprofit advancing social change and inclusion.

Deeply committed to advocacy and volunteerism, Ajmal serves as a Medical Peer Support Specialist, helping individuals navigate health challenges. In 2024, he was honored by the IRS for his service in the VITA and TCE tax assistance programs. His work reflects a lifelong dedication to supporting others and building stronger communities.

Sharif Azad (Board of Director)

Sharif Azad is an experienced professional with extensive experience serving on boards and supporting organizations across the public and private sectors. His background spans roles including Board Member, Program Manager and Coordinator, Contract Analyst, Caseworker, and Community Liaison each reflecting his commitment to organizational development and meaningful service.

Sharif holds a Master of Business Administration in Management from the University of the People and a Master of Laws from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. With more than fifteen years of experience, he has played a vital role in helping organizations design, implement, and strengthen programs and operational systems that drive lasting impact.
